What God did in my life at Walk Right (part 3)

October 14, 2010

Today was the last day of class with Mr. Art Williams. He taught us about the Open Air Evangelism that he does in New York City and many different countries around the world. I was so excited to learn the rope gospel trick and how to share my salvation testimony in three min. We were going to use these on our mission trip to New York City at the end of our school year.

We all had to purchase the rope trick which was only 2 dollars. I was able to get one but there was a student who did not even have 2 dollars to purchase the rope trick. As I saw this need, God brought to my mind the 2 dollars that my Pastor gave me several weeks ago when he was here at Walk Right to teach a class. I was praying and asking God what he wanted me to do with these 2 little dollars and God showed me that I should use it to buy the rope trick for this student. A few hours later, someone anonymously gives me $20. I chose to use the little I had to help someone else in need for God’s glory and God blessed by giving me 10x more than the amount I gave (Mt. 25:34-40; II Cor. 1-5 ). Is that not awesome!

What does God want you to do with the little He has given you?!

This week Pr. Bob Taylor taught us about the Holy Spirit. It was a really good reminder on how the Holy Spirit is the key to living the real christian life. Through Him our prayers can move mountains, and He is the One that teaches us through God’s Word. If we don’t do things in the Spirit those things will have no eternal value! This is so important to completely understand and practice. We must walk/live in the Spirit to have any eternal results!

Mrs. Taylor taught the girls in Chapel. It was such a blessing! She taught on submission, modesty, and thankfulness. I truly enjoyed her class! She has such a sweet and loving spirit. She gave all us young ladies a little flip-chart on I Cor. 13. That chart has been a great help and blessing to me 🙂 What a blessing it has been to meet and be taught by so many godly woman like Mrs. Taylor. My prayer is that one day I will be that godly wife and mother God wants me to be. For now, I am seeking to fall in love with my Lord, and in God’s timing and if it be His will, He will make me into that godly and virtuous wife and mother I desire to be for my “Knight in Shining Armor.”

I highly recommend for every young lady to read “Lady in Waiting” Becoming God’s Best While Waiting for Mr. Right.

God has used this book to help me so much!

A couple quotes from the book.

What are you waiting for? Is it for that perfect job, the ideal relationship, a home, a career, a child? What if you had what you are waiting for? Will it truly bring the fullness of joy you long for? Anything other than a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of how good that thing may be, will bring you discouragement and disillusionment.”

Fulfillment for a Christian young woman begins with the Lordship of Christ in every area of her life.”

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;and all these things shall be added unto you.” ( Mt. 6:33)
